Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS)

A learning content management system (LCMS) is a related technology to the learning management system in that it is focused on the development, management and publishing of the content that will typically be delivered via an LMS (Wikipedia accessed 20120903). For example if you were developing a number courses and using the same assets you could store the assets in the LCMS. When changes were necessary they could be made in the LCMS and the changes would reflect over all of the courses. LCMS are particularly efficient for large organsiations.
